Jo Ann's Story
Life
Well lets see were do I begin, I have three children and 3 step children. I currently live in the wonderful land of OZ ...Not! its Kansas. My husband Ken and I have been married for 14 years. Our children are going off doing their own things. One got married in June and graduated from college as a engineer. One who graduates from UofL in May 08,as Computer graphic design and pro disk golf player and has his own band. One is serving the Marines and is on his last tour in Iraq. He is due to return home soon. Two in High school and 1 in Middle school.I am also a grandmother...sure makes me fill rather old, But makes my mother fill even older as a great grandmother. I currently work on post in education and completeing my Master degree. Sure has been hard going back to school over such a long period. Over all things have been pretty good for me through out the years. You take the good with the bad and keep on going.
School
If i could return back to my high school days same period in time I would return without any question!
Workplace
As i look ...Expand for more
back at the road i traveled to earn a few bucks, I really didnt do so bad to be where i am at now.
I began at K-mart in good ole Radcliff, its no longer there, then i shiffted to be a waitress....wow that was some fun 5 long years at that, took a different step with food, worked at Winn Dixie in the Deli...thats not even there anymore, become management and from there changed my entire direction and worked in the schools systems in special education. I have worked on military post in Child development as Assistant lead and even head cook, I have also managed to sit behind a desk for a little while as Home Economist/Nutristionst for the US Army DMWR. Thats about the extent of my working to earn Social Security/ Retirement when the time comes.
Military
My spouse served 23 years in the US army and retired.
My oldest son Trevor served in US Air Force.
My step son Dan currently serving in the Marines.
I am very proud for each of them for what they have completed. Being a military spouse is very stressfull at times but it makes you a strong person.
